The LMIC Initiative
Welcome to the result of over 40 years of research. We're excited to share our science-based, cost-free program for heart health with you.
A Science-Based, Cost-Free
Program for Heart Health
Heart disease is the world’s leading cause of early death—especially in low- and middle-income countries. The Ballegaard Heart Disease Program (BHDP®) offers a simple, non-pharmacological approach that empowers individuals to support their heart health using the brain’s natural healing potential.
This free educational program is built on 40+ years of clinical neuroscience and has been shown to reduce mortality and hospitalization for people with cardiovascular disease. It does not replace conventional treatments but can complement them safely and effectively.

What makes BHDP® different?
2011-2014
Scientifically
Proven Results
In clinical trials, BHDP® reduced 4-year mortality by 60%, surgery needs by 80%, hospital days by 90%, and medication use by 75%.

Safe and Easy
to Follow
The program uses short, daily video-guided exercises that stimulate unconscious brain reflexes. No medication. No side effects. No cost.
Accessible
for All
If you can brush your teeth, you can use the program. If you’ve noticed your energy changes from day to day, you already understand the principle behind the method.
What to Expect
-
Learn to recognize imbalances in your autonomic nervous system (the unconscious part that regulates stress, heart rate, and more).
-
Use simple exercises to restore balance, reduce chest pain, and potentially avoid serious complications.
-
No beliefs or special equipment required—just commitment to a few minutes a day.
How it Works
-
Step 1: 3 months of education via 6 biweekly videos
-
Step 2: 3 months of practice to turn the exercises into daily habits
All videos are released on the same weekday and time to support routine.
For Professionals
BHDP® can be integrated into clinical practice. A professional training program, including the use of the PPS measurement device and clinical guidance, is available.
Next course will be announced in the fall 2025.
